Getting Past the Affair:
A Program to Help You Cope, Heal, and Move On—
Together or Apart

by Douglas K. Snyder, Donald H. Baucom,
and Kristina Coop Gordon

I strongly recommend that everyone read this book! Frankly, I've read so many books on affairs that my eyes tend to glaze over when I see the same old stuff. But Doug Snyder and his colleagues have gone to a depth I've found in no other book, leading me to read every word very carefully.

What struck me most was how many of the statements in the book perfectly coincide with my own writings over the years. In fact, when I began noticing so many statements with which I strongly agreed, I began using a red pen to put a plus (+) sign in the margin—and wound up with approximately 150 marks!

I read this book in manuscript form, and was asked to write an endorsement. So I'll close with the quote I provided—which appears in full among the reviews posted on The second paragraph also appears on the back cover of the book.

"This book is wise, practical, and thorough. It guides you through the initial trauma of dealing with an affair, then goes beyond most resources in taking you step by step through the process of understanding what happened and deciding what to do next.

"This book is like a daily 'house call' from your own personal relationship expert. It is a 'must read' for anyone trying to recover from the trauma of an affair and make good decisions about the future."
